More funding available to help couples, individuals and families. Relate MTB wish to thank the Albert Hunt Trust and the Aylesbury based Thomas Hickman's Charity for their generous donations. This enables us to offer discretionary funding to people suffering financial hardship who need relationship support. Clients wishing to access this funding will need to provide proof of need. It does however mean that you may be eligible to receive counselling for little or no fee. We rely on the generosity of Trusts and Foundations and fundraising to offer this scheme. (see below about the recent Quiz Night)
The Mid Thames and Buckinghamshire branch of the relationship counselling service Relate held a fundraising pub quiz night with Tim Brooke-Taylor OBE taking on the role of quizmaster. The fundraiser raised £1682 in donations by the end of the night with the winning team donating back their prize of £100 to the charity which relies entirely on donations to run.
Mr Brooke-Taylor, president of the branch, said: "I am a great admirer of the work Relate does, having learnt much about it through my wife, an ex-counsellor. Relate helps couples and families improve their lives and create a better environment for themselves and their children to grow up in.
"I am proud to be president of Relate Mid Thames and Bucks and just look on with huge admiration for their brilliant work." More than 100 people attended the event at the York Club, in the Windsor Great Park, on Friday, March 22.
