To meet increasing client demand and expanding contract work in Buckinghamshire and East Berkshire we are seeking to recruit experienced couple and family counsellors, psychosexual therapists and family counsellors who may have previously worked for Relate or trained elsewhere, and are available to work in one or more of our following locations in Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Maidenhead and Windsor.

Pay:  from £16.24 per hour

Hours: a minimum of 6 hours per week (to include at least one evening)

Locations: Venues to be arranged with suitable counsellors.

Qualifications: Experienced counsellors can begin to work for Relate MTB with relevant Relate training qualifications and /or if their qualifications meet the Relate Assessment of Prior Experience & Learning (APEL) requirements. To be considered for the APEL scheme you must have more than 5 years counselling experience and either experience of working with couples or a qualification which equips you to do so. If you have no couple counselling experience you may still be able to apply but you will need to undertake some additional training.

Relate Mid Thames and Bucks operates across Buckinghamshire and East Berkshire (Windsor, Maidenhead and Slough area) providing relationship counselling, psychosexual therapy, education, family counselling, and IAPT couple therapy for depression. We employ up to 30 practitioners providing over 4,000 sessions each year, supported by admin teams based in Maidenhead and Aylesbury.

Reception and Bookings Administrator (Aylesbury)

Are you a self-starter looking to work part-time in the charity sector supporting people who are vulnerable and going through a difficult stage in their lives?

Relate Mid Thames and Buckinghamshire (MTB) is a registered charity that offers relationship counselling, family counselling, psychosexual therapy and other contracted services. Relate MTB has approximately 25 counsellors currently located in seven different sites serving people living in East Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

The role is based at Relate MTB, 2 Pebble Lane, Aylesbury situated on the top floor above Citizens Advice.

This position of Reception and Bookings Administrator will liaise closely with the Coordination team at the Maidenhead main office to manage appointments for Relate MTB counselling services.

On the day responsibility for the smooth running of the Aylesbury Relate Centre.  To be a good communicator and able to continue good working relations with Citizens Advice and other business neighbours as well as other organisations.

To answer telephone calls from the public and from counsellors. Book initial appointments, to note cancelled appointments, and to answer queries. Be able to signpost/offer appropriate information.

The job requires working 2-3 days/week – Monday and Wednesday 9.15am-2pm with potential for working a third day.  Plus, annual leave and sickness cover when required (this will include evenings). Any overtime worked will be paid.  Travel to other Relate MTB sites may also be required occasionally.

The role is subject to a basic DBS check and has a 3-month probationary period. Reporting to the Operations Manager.

Salary is £20,000 pro rata.

Bookings, Contracts and Services Coordinator (Maidenhead)

The role is based at Relate MTB, 4 Marlow Rd Community Centre, Maidenhead, travel to other Relate MTB sites may be required occasionally.

This position of Bookings, Contracts and Services Coordinator sits within the Admin team, working closely together to manage appointments for Relate MTB counselling services. Engaging directly with clients via telephone and in person and being based at the main central office where all calls across the region come into.

To answer telephone calls from the public, (you will be on the telephone for the majority of the time). To book initial appointments, to note cancelled appointments, and to answer queries. Be able to signpost/offer appropriate information.

The job requires working 3 days/week – Monday, Thursday 9-5pm and Friday 9-3pm plus cover when other Coordinators are on annual leave and whenever possible sick leave. Any overtime worked will be paid.

The role is an 18-month contract and has a 3 month probationary period. Reporting to the Operations Manager.

Salary is £21,450 pro rata.

Relate Mid Thames and Buckinghamshire (MTB) is a small, local charity providing professional relationship counselling to local people, regardless of their ability to pay. We are here for people of all ages and backgrounds, we work to reach out and extend our services beyond the barriers that many people may face.

Relate MTB serves East Berkshire and Buckinghamshire (excluding Milton Keynes) with counselling rooms in High Wycombe, Aylesbury, Chesham, Maidenhead, Windsor and Princes Risborough. In 2017-18 we delivered counselling to 1,889 local people.
